Realizing dreams:

“I’ve been with this project since the very beginning when this was simply ranch land. I’ve walked with Greg Norman and watched him design the golf course. I’ve seen progress everyday as we create something new from the ground floor. It’s a good feeling...to be involved in the creation of something so meaningful to people.” Brian Wallin, Cornerstone Project Manager, was instrumental in bringing this development to fruition from its previous ownership to Hunt Realty Corporation. Brian brings a business and ranching background to the duties of overseeing both entitlements and overall construction.

“It’s a unique experience to cultivate something like a golf course from scratch. My work at Pebble Beach was important—to maintain a world-class golf course. I traded an ocean view for a mountain view, but I brought with me a commitment to excellence, everyday.” Tom Huesgen, Golf Course Superintendent, came to Cornerstone via one of the world’s most revered golf experiences. Tom is a perfectionist whose technical skills, hard work and common sense will ensure that Cornerstone’s golf course will shine as Colorado’s best.

Building a community and fostering growth:

“At the very core of Cornerstone are our club and community. Our members are warm, wonderful people who bring a special energy here. In turn, we are intent on anticipating their every need and wish. My pledge is to nurture the growth of this club and our service culture, which we call Pioneer Hospitality.” Jim Mikula, General Manager of Cornerstone Club, spent over 20 years in the hospitality industry, 10 of those years as an executive in the luxury realm with Regent and Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts.

“Cornerstone is going to be an unparalleled golf experience—and I’m thrilled to be part of this up and coming club. I’ve dedicated my career to helping golfers play better. My mission here is to coach and mentor not only golfers but also all of the Cornerstone kids—no matter what their sport or interest. This is first and foremost a family place, a place where everyone can have fun and feel at home.” Mark Wood, Director of Golf, is considered one of the best golf instructors in the U.S. Off the golf course, Mark is a prominent sports personality in both print and on the airwaves.

Creating legacy:

“From the minute I stepped foot here, this land spoke to me. When we discovered the cornerstones, I was convinced that we could create something extraordinarily honest and compelling. The land, the Club and our Pioneer Hospitality are all coming together to form the foundation of a legacy community. I look forward to bringing my family here, to sharing good times with my friends and to watching Cornerstone flourish.” Larry Corson, Sr. VP Hunt Realty Corporation, has developed golf courses and communities—this time he brings the two worlds together. Larry’s vision has guided Cornerstone’s journey from ranch to a luxury home-away-from-home.

"These mountains are truly in my soul, so when I was asked to help restore the rich native diversity and ecology of Cornerstone, it was an irresistible opportunity. Over the years, this land has given generously to the people who have lived, ranched and hunted here. Now, for the first time, this community is dedicated to giving back, and I am proud to be coordinating this cutting edge stewardship." Colorado native Sue McIntosh, Cornerstone’s Naturalist and Environmental Coordinator, has spent nearly 20 years working to restore and protect wild lands in the southwest as an environmental attorney and with organizations including Sierra Club and Forest Conservation Council.

“Being a Coloradoan, I am both proud and protective of our high country and way of life. An opportunity like this does not come along often—Cornerstone brings a chance for families to be carefree together, to re-discover the wide open spaces and to create their own frontier stories. I know our Homesteaders will find magic here.” Ruth Ann Hattori, Director of Marketing, is a true entrepreneur and uniquely suited to help build this community from the ground up. As “keeper of the brand,” Ruth Ann brings both innovation and discipline to the Cornerstone creation process.
