Chef O’Brien has never met a morsel he couldn’t make delectable (or a grill he couldn’t tame). As a young man, he left his beloved Texas to take his creativity, sense of humor and room-filling presence to Hyde Park, NY where he graduated from the Culinary Institute of America. Returning to Texas, he became an acclaimed chef and restaurateur including recognition by James Beard. His imaginative blending of cuisines, including French, Pacific Rim, Italian and his favorites from the American Southwest results in distinctive fare that he has stamped “frontier gourmet.” A consummate host, Peter makes everyone feel at home and is often remembered for his thoughtful attention. And, all of this spiced with zany jibes and banter.
Peter’s accolades include being named as one of the Best Chefs in Texas, and his restaurant as a top Texas restaurant by both Gourmet Magazine and Food and Wine Magazine, as well as local ratings as a top Austin restaurant for five years running.
