First homesteaded in 1879, Centennial Ranch is still a working ranch and a legacy to western ranching tradition. The historic log cabin has now been converted to a calving shed and a stunning draft horse barn has been erected. And, down by the river, owner and visionary Vince Kontny has built a perfect replica of an old line cabin - just like the small cabins built along fence lines on the far reaches of ranches where cowboys could find shelter from the cold or overnight when out repairing fence. Vince and his wife actually stayed in this beautifully authentic cabin while building their main house, Dashwood.
Cornerstone members can enjoy fishing along the one-mile stretch guided by Michael Kontny who, with his father, has created a river habitat where fish can flourish. It’s a perfect spot to steal away for an hour of casting or a quick lesson, a full day on the river with a break for a picnic lunch, or even an overnight at the cabin complete with a gourmet fish fry.
