Greg Norman’s architectural style is grounded in letting the natural lay of the land guide the flow of the course. Founded in 1987, Greg Norman Golf Course Design has pursued a design philosophy that reflects a respect and responsibility for the environment—finding and leveraging the most desirable features of the landscape, utilizing existing trees and “what Mother Nature gives us.” It is from this naturalist approach that Norman’s renowned courses take their greatest attributes – golf experiences that embrace their distinctive part of the world.
"Cornerstone will be a truly natural golf experience, and that is something I try to accomplish on every one of our projects. The course brings aspens, sage and ephemeral streams into play, and allows the natural landscape to dictate the flow of play. Rock outcroppings, scrub oak, gulches and meadows all contribute to a unique – but still natural – golf experience,” said Greg.
Golf—A formidable team
Mirroring Greg’s pursuit of excellence, Cornerstone has assembled its own dream team, led by top 50 instructor Mark Wood as Director of Golf and Tom Huesgen, Golf Course Superintendent, who traded his Pebble Beach ocean view for our spectacular mountain view.
